Park Rules
- Parks are open from dawn till dusk unless otherwise closed by the CEO or designee.
(Note: Armco Park has specific opening/closing times that can be found here.) - Use after dusk and overnight stays are prohibited, except with prior written permission.
- Pets must be leashed (6-feet or shorter) and under their owner’s control at all times. Owners must pick up their pet’s waste.
- No littering or dumping.
- Motor vehicles (except golf carts) must remain on roadways and designated parking areas. No parking on grass. The speed limit is 20 mph in all parks, unless otherwise posted. Vehicle repair work is prohibited.
- Alcohol consumption is only permitted at Armco Park. All such alcohol must be purchased from the Park District. Exceptions may be granted contemporaneous with approved functions at Hisey Park.
- Fires are permitted in cooking grills and fireplaces only, but must be closely attended at all times. Fire pits are prohibited, except with prior written permission. Fires must be extinguished before leaving.
- Obscene, profane, and abusive actions, gestures, and language are prohibited.
- Sound volumes must remain low enough to not disturb others.
- Activities unreasonably hazardous to a person’s physical safety are prohibited.
- Commercial activities and services for which a fee is charged are prohibited, except with prior written permission. No soliciting.
- Defacing, destroying, and removing park property is prohibited. Addition and removal of plants and other natural resources located on park property is prohibited, except with prior written permission.
- No hunting, feeding, or disturbing wildlife located on park property, except with prior written permission.
- Fishing is catch and release only, except at Armco Park. Armco Park fishing requires a daily pass purchased at the Boat Dock. Type, size, and limits are posted at the Boat Dock. No netting allowed.
- Swimming is prohibited, except with prior written permission.
- No ice skating.
- Boats and watercraft are permitted only at Armco Park and must be launched from a designated boat launch.
- Fireworks and explosives are prohibited, except with prior written permission.
- Firearms are permitted on park property and in park buildings, subject to compliance at all times with Ohio firearms laws.
- Only Park District signage is permitted on park property.
- Smoking and vaping are prohibited within any enclosed park building.
- Possession and/or use of marijuana is prohibited on park property.
- Anyone who fails to comply with these Park Rules while on park property may be asked to leave by the CEO or designee; failure to do so constitutes trespass.
