Softball Complex Rules of Conduct
HOURS OF OPERATION - Softball Complex operating hours are 7:30am – 10:00pm. Organizers are expected to communicate their arrival times for setup and departure times to the Park District in advance of their event. The Park Office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
FIELD CONDITIONS - When weather conditions warrant, the status of the complex will be recorded on a phone message at (513) 425-3332.
ALCOHOL - Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the field of play or in dugouts. Per State Law and Ohio Liquor Control Regulations, alcoholic beverages purchased outside Warren County Armco Park are not permitted to be brought into the park. Anyone purchasing alcohol from Warren County Armco Park or its contracted concessionaire must be 21 years of age. Any individual buying alcohol for a person under 21 will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and may be banned from Park District property.
FOOD/BEVERAGES – Only fruit and water are permitted to be brought into the Softball Complex. All other food and beverages must be purchased from the concession stand. Coolers and glass bottles may not be brought into the complex. All food, chewing gum, and beverages (except water) are prohibited on the field of play. Seeds are not to be eaten in dugouts.
SMOKING/TOBACCO – Smoking is not permitted in the Softball Complex. All forms of tobacco are prohibited on the field of play and in dugouts.
METAL SPIKES – Metal spikes are prohibited and may result in a $500 fine to the event organizer, plus restitution for damages, if allowed.
FIGHTING – Any fighting during a game, which results in a player’s ejection from the game, will create an automatic suspension from all league and tournament play with any team at Warren County Armco Park.
VULGAR AND OBSCENE LANGUAGE – Zero tolerance of obscene language. Any individual using obscene or vulgar language is subject to ejection from the complex without refund. NO WARNING IS REQUIRED.
PETS – Pets ARE NOT ALLOWED inside the Softball Complex. Service animals are permitted if they meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. See https://www.ada.gov/resources/service-animals-2010-requirements/
GATE FEES - There will be a $3.00 charge at the Gate (may be higher for some events if event organizer also has a gate fee). Children under the age of 16 years old will be admitted free if accompanied by their parent(s), and umpires will be admitted free. This does not apply if event organizer selects the “gate fee buyout option” when renting the complex.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY - Any person guilty of willfully destroying property may be prosecuted, required to pay restitution, and/or be banned from the park. Batting practice against fences is prohibited.
COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY – No person shall sell any product or service or solicit donations except with prior written permission from the Park District and payment of a fee.
USE AT OWN RISK – By entering the Softball Complex, complex users recognize and agree to voluntarily assume all risks associated with entry into and use of the Softball Complex and participation in its activities/events and to release, forever discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless WCPD, its commissioners, employees, officers, agents, volunteers, guests, successors, assigns, event partners and sponsors, from any and all liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature, arising from their entry into and use of the Softball Complex and participation in its activities/events.
ENFORCEMENT – Event organizers and Park District staff may eject any person found to be violating Softball Complex rules from the complex, without refund. Park District staff may also eject violators from Park District property, and serious violations may result in event cancellation without refund. Violators may also be civilly or criminally liable for acts that cause harm to others, destroy property, or violate applicable law.
Event organizers are responsible for enforcing Softball Complex rules with participants, and violations may affect an organizer’s future ability to rent the complex or may subject the organizer to having to pay restitution for damages.
